This 1993 Mazda RX-7 was purchased by the seller’s friend in 1994, and it is said to have been modified circa 2000 with an aftermarket intercooler, free-flow exhaust components, a short shifter, a heavy-duty clutch, and a lightweight flywheel. The car remained in storage from 2010 until it was acquired by the seller in 2023, and subsequent work included cleaning the fuel system and replacing the brake rotors, pads, and tires. Powered by a twin-turbocharged 1.3-liter Wankel rotary engine connected to a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential, the car is finished in Silver Stone Metallic over black cloth upholstery. Equipment includes pop-up headlights, front and rear spoilers, 16″ five-spoke wheels, a cassette stereo, cruise control, air conditioning, and a cassette stereo. This FD RX-7 has 34k miles and is now offered with manufacturer’s literature, the removed stock intercooler, an accident-free Carfax report, and a clean Pennsylvania title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in Silver Stone Metallic and is equipped with a front lip spoiler, a rear wing, pop-up headlights, front fender vents, a rear spoiler, and a power antenna. There are dents in the quarter panels, and additional photos of exterior imperfections are viewable in the gallery below.
The 16″ five-spoke wheels are finished in black, and they are mounted with 225/50 General G-Max AS-05 tires that show 2022 production codes. Braking is provided by four-wheel anti-lock discs with four-piston front calipers. The front and rear brake pads and rotors were replaced under current ownership. There are paint chips on the wheels.
The cabin features twin high-backed bucket seats trimmed in black cloth with patterned inserts along with color-coordinated carpets and door panels. A short shifter was installed under previous ownership, and amenities include drilled aluminum clutch and brake pedals, a cassette stereo, cruise control, and air conditioning.
The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 180-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 7,500-rpm redline, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 34k miles, approximately 20 of which were added under current ownership.
The 1.3-liter Wankel rotary features sequential twin turbochargers and is spanned by an aftermarket strut tower brace. An aftermarket intercooler, GReddy intercooler hoses, and aftermarket air cleaners were installed under previous ownership. The seller states that the fuel system was drained and a replacement fuel filter and hoses were installed following their acquisition.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a Torsen limited-slip differential. A free-flow exhaust system was installed around 2000 according to the seller, and a lightweight flywheel and heavy-duty clutch are said to have been fitted under previous ownership.
The Carfax report lists an open manufacturer safety recall.
